Tests in transit zone on Vuoksa River, Leningrad region
During these tests a method of land and marine (river) profiles cross-linking was implemented, both on technological level and on level of acquired data processing. On Vuoksa River a profile with length over 2 km was shot; the profile crossed the river’s waters and both of the riversides.
In the marine (river) part of the profile four-component marine bottom nodes were placed, while in the profile’s land part three-component land nodes were set.
During this fieldwork methods of node placement and gathering using river boats were tested, both in pure waters, and “in reed”. Thus, land nodes were tested. Navigation equipment and related technological matters were examined. Acquired seismic data was processed and profiles were built in the longitudinal and transverse waves. From the viewpoint of geological interpretation, the surveyed profile is a thin layer of Quaternary sediments on the Baltic Shield.
